Because Instagram would love to become the home of music sharing. TikTok is the leader on this front, with TikTok trends now playing a significant role in music promotion. But with TikTok’s future in the U.S. still in doubt, Instagram’s been slowly ramping up its music content focus, in the hopes of supplanting TikTok in this respect.

📊 Instagram introducerer Stories-inspirerede performance-opsummeringer

Instagram has added two new features to help keep users updated on their in-app performance stats, with a Recap overview of key insights, and new celebrations for major milestones and account events.

🤳 ...og teleprompter i 'Edits'-app'en

Fra Social Media Today:

As you can see in this example sequence, the new teleprompter option in Edits enables you to upload your script to an in-stream rolling text display, ensuring your text is presented right below the front-facing camera on your device.

Fra Social Media Today:

After previewing its AI-powered video editing tools late last year, Meta is now making the first of these available in both the Meta AI and Instagram’s Edits app, with a new “Restyle” option enabling users to completely alter the context of their video clips.

🫣 YouTube bringer moderationsregler på linje med Trump

Fra The New York Times:

The world’s largest video platform has told content moderators to favor “freedom of expression” over the risk of harm in deciding what to take down.

Instagram’s trial Reels have been available for just on six months now, and IG is keen to get more creators trying out its audience sampling feature, in order to help boost content performance.

🤔 Trump vil måske give TikTok endnu en forlængelse

Fra Social Media Today:

And nope, TikTok still isn’t banned, and with just 8 days remaining in the second 75-day hold on enforcement of the bill, President Donald Trump is once again indicating that he’ll approve yet another extension, in order to ensure that TikTok remains available in the U.S.

👊 Brasilien vil gøre sociale platforme ansvarlige for brugernes indhold

Brazil's Supreme Court on Wednesday ruled that social media companies must be held accountable for some types of content published by users on their platforms in the country, but details on the decision have yet to be resolved.

Imagine, for a moment, that your most clandestine internet searches—anxiety-riddled deep dives on WebMD, Google queries wondering if your cat is trying to kill you, or why farts smell the way they do—were the key to finding a soulmate. Fra Nieman Lab:

A shift from measuring the reach or success of a unit of news — pageviews, awards, and the like — to defining success by impact on people served. It’s one perspective in a broader, thorny debate about how to evaluate the success/impact/relevance of nonprofit news.

💪 Sådan går The Guardian til AI-licensaftaler

Fra INMA:

Fra Simon Owens:

Not everyone is going to launch a successful career as an independent media creator, but journalists should be thinking more about building a home base where they can have more ownership over their audience.
