YouTube’s looking to avoid potential risks with youngsters livestreaming in the app, with the platform announcing that it’s increasing its age limit for livestreams, with live broadcasts to be restricted to users aged 16 and up from next month.
🤳 Instagram åbner mere op overfor Google-søgninger
Instagram’s update will allow public-facing professional content to appear in search engine results. So, if someone searches “best sustainable beauty brands” or “minimalist interior inspiration,” and your Instagram content is relevant, it could appear directly in Google results, driving traffic to your profile without the user even opening the app.
📈 Shorts på YouTube rammer 200 mia. daglige visninger
YouTube has crossed another major milestone. The platform’s short-form video offering YouTube Shorts is now averaging 200 billion daily views, according to CEO Neal Mohan, who shared the news during his keynote at the 2025 Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity.
🔎 YouTube lader sig inspirere af Googles "AI Overviews"
YouTube is rolling out new AI-powered features to help users find content and information more easily, the company announced on Thursday. The platform is launching an AI-powered search results carousel similar to Google’s AI Overviews and is also testing conversational AI with more users.

Meta announced on Wednesday that it’s adding an AI-powered summaries feature to WhatsApp. The optional new feature uses Meta AI to summarize unread messages in a chat.

Today, Instagram has announced that all users can now access background colors for their inbox Notes, while you can also add avatar emojis to your add-on notifications.

Et muligt redskab er en offentlig “lånemodel” for nyheder – inspireret af Filmstriben, hvor alle borgere gennem bibliotekerne har adgang til et antal gratis film om måneden. Med samme princip kunne man give alle danskere adgang til et antal avisartikler fra danske medier via cpr-login.

People tend to think of The Economist as a weekend magazine. With the launch of an app redesign, the publisher is trying to encourage readers to see it as an outlet for daily news and analysis.

Its target audience is journalists — along with academics, authors, and other word people — who are more comfortable writing than talking to a phone screen.

💳 Googles lancerer "Offerwall" til medier, der vil tage betaling
Det går nok over hovedet på de færreste, at dette sker samtidig med, mange medier mister trafik fra Google – blandt andet på grund af deres AI-tiltag.
I øvrigt synes jeg, navnet fungerer bedre på dansk: Offervæg.
Offerwall lets publishers give their sites’ readers a variety of ways to access their content, including through options like micropayments, taking surveys, watching ads, and more. In addition, Google says that publishers can add their own options to the Offerwall, like signing up for newsletters.

🤝 Amedia og Berlingske Media vil bygge fælles it-platform

Integration mellem Amedia og Berlingske Media har ført til et katalog på 70 initiativer. På et område er der arbejde til to-tre år og investeringer for ”hundredevis af mio. kr.” ifølge topchef.

Today, the BBC announced it’s introducing a paywall for consumers in the U.S. The move isn’t a total surprise — on June 15, The Guardian reported the plans were in the works — but it is a marked shift in strategy: it’s the first time the broadcaster will directly charge for its journalism anywhere in the world.

Hvis man var i tvivl om, at Schibsted som minimum flirter med at gå enegang overfor AI-firmaerne (de indgik en aftale med OpenAI tidligere på året), er her endnu et hint i den retning.

🧑⚖️ Meta får medhold i sag anlagt af forfattere
A federal judge sided with Meta on Wednesday in a lawsuit brought against the company by 13 book authors, including Sarah Silverman, that alleged the company had illegally trained its AI models on their copyrighted works.
