📈 Shorts på YouTube rammer 200 mia. daglige visninger

Fra The Wrap:

YouTube has crossed another major milestone. The platform’s short-form video offering YouTube Shorts is now averaging 200 billion daily views, according to CEO Neal Mohan, who shared the news during his keynote at the 2025 Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity.

Fra The Ankler:

Today I’ve got an exclusive look at a leaked pitch deck from Spotify, which is wading further into the fight with YouTube (what media company isn’t battling with the Google-owned streamer these days?) by wooing the platform’s top creators.

🗓️ The Economists app vil adskille hverdag og weekend

Fra Nieman Lab:

People tend to think of The Economist as a weekend magazine. With the launch of an app redesign, the publisher is trying to encourage readers to see it as an outlet for daily news and analysis.

Offerwall lets publishers give their sites’ readers a variety of ways to access their content, including through options like micropayments, taking surveys, watching ads, and more. In addition, Google says that publishers can add their own options to the Offerwall, like signing up for newsletters.

🧱 BBC lancerer paywall i USA

Fra Nieman Lab:

Today, the BBC announced it’s introducing a paywall for consumers in the U.S. The move isn’t a total surprise — on June 15, The Guardian reported the plans were in the works — but it is a marked shift in strategy: it’s the first time the broadcaster will directly charge for its journalism anywhere in the world.

We asked survey respondents across 48 countries about their interest in eight different kinds of AI-powered personalization. Our aggregate results show interest is relatively low (below 30%) for any single option, but over half in most countries were interested in at least one.
