Facebook recently announced that “views” would be the main metric used to measure how all content is performing on the platform, combining metrics like “plays” and “impressions.” Five publishing execs told Digiday this new primary metric is just another way of measuring impressions, and the change has no impact on their Facebook strategy.
👨💼 Sådan bruger medier LinkedIn i audience-arbejdet
LinkedIn has been investing in its creator capabilities for years, as it recognizes the value of having creators on its platform. Between tools like its blogging platform and new advertising formats designed to reach relevant audiences, the network is building up a suite of features to keep audiences and individuals engaged with the content on the platform.

If you remember the news aggregator app Nuzzel, you’ll be familiar with the basic concept of Sill. (Twitter shut down Nuzzel after acquiring the startup that operated it, Scroll, in 2021. People miss it.) In short, Sill shows the most popular links being shared by accounts you follow on Bluesky and Mastodon.
➕ Bluesky på vej med abonnementsprodukt
The company plans to launch a paid subscription model by the end of this year, which will include features such as customizable aesthetics, avatar frames, and more video uploads or high-resolution images.
A majority of social media influencers don’t verify information before sharing it with their audiences, a study published Tuesday by the UN’s scientific and cultural arm found, underscoring concerns that some of the biggest online figures can uncritically spread misleading claims.
✨ Instagram udvider beskedmuligheder
And worth noting, Instagram says that DMs are now the primary way that people share in the app. So while this may seem like a minor update, it actually could have a major impact on broader usage.
📉 Musk indrømmer, at X nedprioriterer links
While the rationale appears to be a bid to increase user engagement within X’s ecosystem and discourage users from leaving the platform, the revelation renews scrutiny of Musk’s past use of the technology to settle personal scores or manage narratives.

🤔 Musk vil forhindre The Onion i at overtage InfoWars-profiler
“Put simply, accounts are inherently part of X Corp.’s Services and their ‘use,’” the company said in Monday’s court filing. “A user must use X Corp.’s Services to create an account in the first instance, and to continue using the account going forward.”

😬 ChatGPT bruger “dark patterns” i sine web-designs
The researchers asked participants to simulate a fictitious e-commerce scenario where they acted as web designers, using ChatGPT to generate pages for a shoe store. […] Despite using neutral language that specifically did not mention integrating deceptive design patterns, every single AI-generated web page contained at least one such pattern, with an average of five per page.

A group appears to have leaked access to Sora, OpenAI’s video generator, in protest of what it’s calling duplicity and “art washing” on OpenAI’s part.
Research on this is underway. Companies like Tavus are hard at work helping users create “digital twins” of themselves. But the company’s CEO, Hassaan Raza, envisions going further, creating AI agents that can take the form of therapists, doctors, and teachers.
If such tools become cheap and easy to build, it will raise lots of new ethical concerns, but two in particular stand out.
