? Sociale medier
Social Media Today:
“Called CatchUp, the new app is essentially Messenger Rooms for voice calls, providing the capacity to see when your friends are online and up for a voice call, as well as in-progress group chats that you can join.”
The Verge:
“Facebook today announced new features for Messenger that will alert you when messages appear to come from financial scammers or potential child abusers, displaying warnings in the Messenger app that provide tips and suggest you block the offenders.”
Social Media Today:
“Messenger Rooms are, logically, hosted on Messenger, so while you can create a room within Instagram, you’ll still have to switch to Messenger to engage in the video chat. But it does provide another way to use Facebook’s new multi-participant video chat option – though active Rooms won’t be displayed in Instagram, so you won’t be able to use it as a drop-in video chat tool, as it’s designed on Facebook.”
Instagram tester nye indtjeningsmuligheder
TechCrunch:
“Instagram today is launching new tools that enable video creators to make money, including badges that viewers can purchase during Instagram Live videos and the introduction of IGTV ads. Both launches are considered a test, as the company is limiting the features’ availability during its experimentation phase, it says.”

The Verge:
“‘Upon review by our teams, we have confirmed this was an error in our enforcement systems and we are working to fix it as quickly as possible,’ said a YouTube spokesperson. The company did not elaborate on how or why this error came to be, but said it was not the result of any change in its moderation policy.”

Journalisten:

Digiday:
“Podcast listening has grown by 14% on mobile and 5% on smart speakers during April compared with February, according to media company Global’s audio platform Dax. Listens are up 5% over the last four weeks on podcast platform Acast compared with the four weeks beginning March 23. Podcast networks like Entercom and Vox Media have also showed increased listening in April. […]
Here are some of the winners and losers. “
Nyt forsøg giver brugerne kontrol over lydfortællinger
RJI Online:
“Expandable audio journalism allows listeners to respond to prompts. Structurally, the most basic model consists of only two elements: the main storyline and bonus loops. The main storyline is the most important information, the backbone of the project. The bonus loops are meant to allow the reader to pursue an optional topic if they are interested and skip over if not. In a daily news format, the main storyline could be a 1-2 sentence synopsis of the day’s top headlines.”
The Information laver “nyhedsskole” på Zoom
Nieman Lab:
“In-person internships may be off for this summer but for those who want to brush up on their journalism skills anyway, The Information is offering a free “news summer school” in July. It will consist of eight hour-long sessions over four weeks — on Zoom, of course, and with virtual breakout groups. And, again, the price is $0.”
Den Store Danske vender tilbage
MediaWatch:
Datatilsynet går ind i Tamoco-sagen
Gyldendal lancerer streaming-tjeneste
MediaWatch:
Investeringen løber samlet op i 30-40 mio. kr.”
Nu kommer YouTube Kids til Apple TV
TechCrunch:
“Videos on YouTube Kids is still mostly filtered through algorithms, however, which means inappropriate content can still appear on the app. But while it is not perfect, YouTube Kids still offers more features that can help caretakers prevent harmful content from being viewed by children, including one that lets them whitelist specific videos or channels.”
Wikimedia vil skabe et bedre community
Gizmodo:
“The Wikimedia Foundation has been asked by its board to overhaul its safety and compliance standards to better address “harassment and incivility” on Wikipedia and related Wikimedia communities.”

Nieman Lab:
“Founded by sisters Erin Millar and Caitlin Havlak of The Discourse, Indiegraf will provide publications with pooled resources — including technology and marketing staff — to launch or grow subscriber-based businesses. The network thinks of itself as “the tech and business engine” for entrepreneurial journalists who want to launch a digital news operation, but don’t have the resources to hire their own developers or wage extensive marketing campaigns.”
Digiday:
“With lockdown restrictions now being eased by some governments, small green shoots of recovery are beginning to emerge. Digiday reporters took a (virtual) trip around the world to see where activity is beginning to restart.”
Columbia Journalism Review:
“[Ben Thompson, Stratechery] reiterated some of the points he made in his newsletter on the topic, including the argument that the value Facebook and Google provide to the media in return for their content ‘is objectively measurable: when their content is linked to by Google or Facebook, the media entities make more money, and when it is not, they do not. That is why France had to include a provision forcing Google to not simply exit the market.'”
Digiday:
“Publishers measure churn in their own ways and discounted monthly trial periods often need longer for data collection. Aggregate data from subscription platforms give an early indication that these readers are more likely to stick around.”

Indikerer The Atlantic-fyringer døden for video og events?
Nieman Lab:
“In his memo, chairman David Bradley noted three areas where The Atlantic is having trouble: Advertising, events, and video. Advertising is no surprise — it’s been decimated for nearly everyone, with losses accelerating in the last couple months — but events and video were once seen as potential bright spots for digital publishers — ways to diversify their revenue and reach new audiences. If there was any doubt, it’s now gone: Video and events will not save us.”

Google Assistant får betalingsfunktion
Marketing Land:
“Supported by an existing credit card on file, confirm with voice match is apparently not available for all purchases. Google does not indicate the purchase categories or limits tied to the capability. On a support page, Google says, “When you authorize payments with Voice Match, you can make purchases with your Google Assistant, like in-action upgrades through Google Play digital goods . . . What you can purchase with Voice Match might change depending on the good or service.””
RettighedsAlliancen gør blokering dynamisk
Version2:
VentureBeat:
