Få overblikket allerede i indbakken:
✅ Meta overvejer måske betaling for verifikationssymbol
“According to a new finding by reverse engineering pro Alessandro Paluzzi, there’s a new mention in the codebase of both Facebook and Instagram of a ‘paid blue badge’.”
🏆 Top 30 over europæiske medier på TikTok
“According to research by the Reuters Institute over 80% of leading publishers in Spain, France and the UK operate active accounts on TikTok. TikTok became so prevalent that, despite the issues, you shouldn’t ignore it.
Let’s see what top media outlets on TikTok are at the start of the new year. “
📈 YouTube Shorts runder 50.000.000.000 daglige visninger
“YouTube Shorts has surpassed 50 billion daily views, up from 30 billion a year ago, Alphabet CEO Sundar Pichai said Thursday during Alphabet’s fourth-quarter earnings call.”
🤳 YouTube ruller ‘Go Live Together’ på iOS og Android
“YouTube is rolling out a collaboration feature that allows two users to livestream together. “Go Live Together” was first introduced in November last year, but as per a recent tweet from YouTube (and our own tests), seems to now be available more broadly across iOS and Android mobile devices. “
🤯 Musk fyrer Twitter-udviklere over lav reach
To udviklere gav ham deres bud, underbygget med data fra bl.a.
“‘“You’re fired, you’re fired,’ Musk told the engineer.”
“Twitter has rolled out longer tweets to Twitter Blue subscribers in the US, with paying users now able to post tweets up to 4,000 characters in length.”
😟 Twitter i modvind i Tyskland
“Elon Musk has said he bought Twitter Inc. to ensure the sanctity of free speech on the site. This week, his company faced one of the challenges associated with operating a global social network in Germany, where certain kinds of speech are illegal.”
“Some experts have argued the new decline is a post-pandemic effect, with the artificial boom in production caused by enforced lockdowns now coming to an end.
But the figures reveal more complexity, since almost the same number of new shows ended during the pandemic period as started up. Whatever the root, stalling production levels pose some worrying questions for those who make podcasts and those who invest in them.”

“About half of Americans (49%) who listen to podcasts do so while doing household chores, the most popular podcast-listening situation.
Commuting to work, another activity that requires eyes and not quite all of one’s attention, is second at 42%.
This is followed by working out and cooking/baking, both at 29%.”
“Today, Google has clarified that AI-generated content is not against its guidelines, revising its previous stance on AI-created material, and how it will, or won’t be ranked by Google Search.”
“The Wall Street Journal has launched a new newsletter…with a difference. Rather than a regular publishing schedule, WSJ News Debrief will only be sent when big news events happen.”
👪 Roskilde Festival lancerer medlemsunivers
“The publisher said in an announcement on Monday that the companies will “work together on tools for content distribution and subscriptions, using Google tools for marketing, ad product experimentation, and further on Subscribe with Google and Google Ad Manager”.”
😬 Vid&Sans jagter fondsmidler i kampen for overlevelse
“Elon Musk says that Twitter will start sharing revenue from reply-thread ads with creators who are subscribed to Twitter Blue Verified. (According to Musk, “legacy” verified marks will be going away in “a few months.”) He says the program will start today, though there are currently very few details about how it will work.”

“Bard seeks to combine the breadth of the world’s knowledge with the power, intelligence and creativity of our large language models. It draws on information from the web to provide fresh, high-quality responses. Bard can be an outlet for creativity, and a launchpad for curiosity, helping you to explain new discoveries from NASA’s James Webb Space Telescope to a 9-year-old, or learn more about the best strikers in football right now, and then get drills to build your skills.”
“AI will be coming to Google Search more directly in the form of several new features ‘which can help synthesize insights for questions where there is no one right answer. Soon, you’ll see these AI-powered features in Search that distill complex information and multiple viewpoints into easy-to-digest formats, so you can quickly understand the big picture and learn more from the web,’ the company said in a separate email. Nuance but bullet point format, got it.”
“The ‘race starts today’ in search,” skriver VentureBeat.
“Dependence on search traffic has already kickstarted a race to the bottom for publishers. Will Google’s new AI tools accelerate it?”

📹 Startup bag Stable Diffusion præsenterer AI til videogenerering
“Runway, the generative AI startup that co-created last year’s breakout text-to-image model Stable Diffusion, has released an AI model that can transform existing videos into new ones by applying any style specified by a text prompt or reference image.”
🤖 Nu starter kampen indenfor AI-baserede annoncer
“The ways in which artificial intelligence will underpin online ad growth are coming into sharper focus. […]
Indeed, GroupM recently estimated that 90% of digital ad campaigns will be influenced by AI by 2027, per an analyst note from New Street Research’s Dan Salmon.”
🤔 Musk åbner døren for light-udgave af Twitter-API
“Last week, Twitter said it is shutting down free access to its APIs starting February 9. Now, days before the deadline, Elon Musk said that after getting feedback from developers, Twitter will provide a write-only API for ‘bots providing good content that is free.'”
😎 Er dampen gået af metaverset?
“The metaverse could bounce back, too. But for the moment, it’s worth considering why excitement over it has tapered off. Rather than there being one tidy explanation, I think numerous factors are in play.”
💭 Hvordan kan man regulere metaverset?
“The European Union is getting increasingly proactive about the metaverse — planning a full policy initiative this year on the topic and launching a slew of commissions along with a “citizens assembly” to establish its priorities for (eventually) regulating the nascent field.”
