Del 4: Udvikling og tech

Her får du et kig på nogle af ugens historier indenfor den digitale udvikling og teknologi, der enten direkte eller indirekte kan have betydning for medier/udgivere.

😳 Bing ChatGPT sammenligner journalister med Hitler

Fra Associated Press:

“In one long-running conversation with The Associated Press, the new chatbot complained of past news coverage of its mistakes, adamantly denied those errors and threatened to expose the reporter for spreading alleged falsehoods about Bing’s abilities.

It grew increasingly hostile when asked to explain itself, eventually comparing the reporter to dictators Hitler, Pol Pot and Stalin and claiming to have evidence tying the reporter to a 1990s murder.”

Og selvfølgelig…

🤖 Hvordan AI kan hjælpe journalister – eller ej

Fra Semafor:

“ChatGPT and other AI systems don’t do journalism well because, well, they weren’t built to.  They’re language models, meaning they’re really good at tasks involving language.  But they’re not fact models, or verification models, or math models, which makes them terrible at figuring out what’s true or adding two numbers together — both of which are pretty basic journalism skills. But complaining that they’re bad at journalism is like being angry at Excel because it doesn’t draw pictures well.”

“Major news outlets have begun criticizing OpenAI and its ChatGPT software, saying the lab is using their articles to train its artificial intelligence tool without paying them.

‘Anyone who wants to use the work of Wall Street Journal journalists to train artificial intelligence should be properly licensing the rights to do so from Dow Jones,’ Jason Conti, general counsel for News Corp.’s Dow Jones unit, said in a statement provided to Bloomberg News. ‘Dow Jones does not have such a deal with OpenAI.’
