✏ Twitter vil teste ‘Edit’-knap

Fra Twitter selv:

“It’s true: Edit Tweet is being tested by our team internally. The test will then be initially expanded to Twitter Blue subscribers in the coming weeks.”

📕 Ny bog fortæller historien om YouTube

Fra Platformer:

“From the day it was announced, I’ve been looking forward to reading Mark Bergen’s book about YouTube. Bergen has long been one of the best Google reporters on the beat, and YouTube is a ripe subject: universally known but still dimly understood across many dimensions, particularly on how the company evolved after being acquired by Google and who was in the room to make the hardest calls.”

“Today, just weeks out from the US midterms, Twitter has announced that it will expand its experimental Birdwatch crowd-sourced fact-checking program, as a means to combat misinformation throughout the app.”

🎂 Instagram fylder 10 i Facebook-familien

Fra Protocol:

“The deal is now at the heart of an antitrust lawsuit the Federal Trade Commission filed in 2020, which argues that Facebook identified nascent threats like Instagram and WhatsApp and bought them up rather than trying to compete with them. “It’s better to buy than compete,” Zuckerberg wrote in a 2008 email.”

“Twitter Inc. is asking a judge to order Elon Musk to turn over all of his text messages from the first six months of 2022, saying the billionaire wasn’t cooperating in exchanging evidence ahead of trial in the fight over his $44 billion buyout offer.”

Fra MediaWatch:

“Wikipedia, which has more than 1,800 Russian-speaking volunteer editors, has long been a thorn in the Russian government’s side.”

🤔 Hvorfor er podcast-søgning så svært?

Fra Transistor – Podcasting [YouTube]:

“How do you find a podcast or a podcast episode on Spotify, Apple, Google? Is there a better search engine or podcast database where we can find interesting episodes, especially when those episodes are around a specific topic?”

🤨 Meghan Markle i top: Piller Spotify ved podcast-listen?

Fra MailOnline:

Spotify was today accused of wrongly using its own official podcast chart to keep Meghan Markle at No 1 when she is lagging behind Joe Rogan and other stars in terms of daily listeners.

MailOnline can reveal that while Archetypes is ranked as the ‘Top Podcast’ in the US, the UK and all of Spotify’s main English-speaking markets – the first two shows with Mariah Carey and Serena Williams are as low as 25 – and no higher than five – in the streaming giant’s own ‘Top Episodes’ rankings.

📲 Parler er tilbage i Google Play Store

Fra TechCrunch:

Truth Social isn’t allowed in Google’s app store yet, but another ostensibly anything-goes social network in the same orbit just made a comeback there. Parler, a social app designed to appeal to pro-Trump social media users turned off of mainstream platforms, has returned to the Google Play Store more than a year after getting the boot.

💡 The New York Times’ abonnementer + annoncer

Fra INMA:

“Very often, some argue it’s an either/or with ads and subscriptions, that they are mutually exclusive.

They are not.

As The New York Times has so many subscribers, it has a huge amount of first-party data it can then use to target ads for advertisers, which in turn, gives it a market advantage as advertisers get smarter and more ‘precision’ based on their wanted contextual, personalised targeting of sometimes, very niche audiences.”

⏸ Zetland pauser internationale planer

🤔 Hvad betyder YouTube-podcasts for markedet?

Is YouTube’s new podcast tab a game changer?

Not currently. It’s really little more than a landing page that promotes popular video podcasts. There’s a section that claims its recommendations are based on my interests, but that didn’t seem to be the case. I couldn’t even navigate to the tab from the YouTube homepage, which means that very few people are even landing on it.

“Reach Plc’s Paul Rissen says that it is time for newsrooms to break the silos in editorial and tech teams so readers can get a better news experience”

(Fra Wikipedia: “Reach plc (known as Trinity Mirror between 1999 and 2018) is a British newspaper, magazine and digital publisher.”)

😬 Snap lukker Web3-afdeling

😲 Stort fald i metavers-jobs

Fra Fast Company:

“The metaverse is not yet upon us, but companies are already cutting back on hiring in the sector. That’s according to a report from Bloomberg, which highlights a study by Revelio Labs, which showed that postings for jobs relating to the “metaverse” declined by a whopping 81% between April and June 2022.”

🔑 iOS 16 vil gøre op med kodeordet

Fra Wired:

“Passkeys allow you to log in to apps and websites, or create new accounts, without having to create, memorize, or store a password. This passkey, which is made up of a cryptographic key pair, replaces your traditional password and is synced across iCloud’s Keychain. It has the potential to eliminate passwords and improve your online security, replacing the insecure passwords and bad habits you probably have now.”

📞 Her er de nye iPhone 14

Fra CNET:

“The lineup will also be the first to omit a physical SIM card slot on its US models, instead opting for eSIM when activating service with a wireless carrier. Plus, this will also be the first iPhone lineup to include satellite communication for emergency calls when cellular service isn’t available.”
