Del 1: Sociale medier

Her finder du historier om eller fra de store sociale platforme, der har en enorm rolle at spille i kontakten mellem udgiver/afsender og modtager.
🤨 Bliver TikTok nu forbudt alligevel?
TikTok gets to continue operating in the US for a while longer, thanks to Trump’s Department of Justice not enforcing a ban that was passed by Congress and upheld by the Supreme Court. TikTok’s US hosting providers, including Apple, Google, and Oracle, are seemingly still okay with this situation despite the fact that they are very much breaking the law. And unless Trump ultimately eases on tariffs against China, TikTok may end up banned after all.
📲 Instagram på vej med "Edits" app
Mosseri says that Edits is “getting really close”, and should be available within “the next couple of weeks.” Mosseri says that a selected group of creators are currently beta testing the app, with a view to the release of an initial, “simple” version shortly.

🔮 Kan Blueskys AT Protocol blive det, fediverset drømmer om?
So, will AT Protocol be able to build out something like the Fediverse dream of 2022? It’ll be difficult, but I think it’ll bring some real advantages to the fight. For one, Bluesky’s popularity will offer a better jumping-off point for other apps. “Login with Bluesky” is a more useful pitch than “Login with Mastodon” ever will be.
For another, the growing interest in AT Protocol seems to be more focused on building new apps than in integrating old ones — which suggests there’ll be more people invested in seeing the protocol succeed.
🤔 Sådan har Signal brugt "Signalgate" i sin markedsføring
Is that a good thing for Signal? There are some potential risks and pitfalls—and usually having “gate” appended to your company name isn’t exactly a plus. But in this case, the attention appears to be paying off for Signal.

✨ KunThy er gået i luften
For det lokale medieselskab Kunmors handler det ikke længere kun om Mors — nu handler det også om Thy.
😟 Mediers apps er slemme til at lække data
87 per cent of magazine and newspaper apps and 77 per cent of news apps leaked hard-coded credentials, compared to an average of 71 per cent of apps across all categories. This is based on a sample of 156,080 randomly selected iOS apps – approximately 8 per cent of the App Store.

🥱 Er abonnementstrætheden ved at indfinde sig?
Fra What's New in Publishing:
Subscriptions, on the other hand, are showing signs of fatigue. Growth slowed to 3.26% YoY, a modest increase but a clear deceleration from previous quarters. It comes amid wider concerns of consumer burnout as highlighted by a survey in International Business Times which found that 85% of consumers across the U.S., UK, France, and Germany, felt overwhelmed by the number of subscriptions they manage.

🤔 Har Team Trump beregnet tariffer med AI?
Where did these numbers come from? Apparently, an oversimplified calculation that several major AI chatbots happen to recommend.
👨💻 Nu kan Microsofts Copilot gå på nettet
Copilot can now take action on “most websites,” Microsoft says, enabling it to book tickets, reserve restaurants, and more. The bot has gained the ability to remember specific things about you, similar to OpenAI’s ChatGPT, like your favorite food and films. And it can now analyze real-time video from your phone, answering questions in the context of what it “sees.”
